I’m Tesla Mitchell — a climber, filmmaker, and educational content creator specializing in menstrual cycle–based training for climbers. I create informational, research-backed content about periods, hormones, and athletic performance, alongside climbing inspiration, training tips, and real-world strategies for managing energy, strength, and recovery throughout the cycle. My content is designed for menstruating climbers and outdoor athletes — from beginners to experienced climbers — who want to train smarter, reduce burnout, and feel more in tune with their bodies. I also reach coaches, gym communities, and brands looking to better support female and non-binary athletes through education and inclusive storytelling. Across YouTube, Instagram, and digital media, I produce educational videos.

FAQ

Who is your audience?

I create content for climbers who menstruate and are tired of pretending their cycle doesn’t affect how they feel on the wall. My community is made up of boulderers, sport climbers, and weekend warriors who want to understand their bodies, climb harder, and stop feeling broken or “too emotional” just because they have a period. The people who find me are usually dealing with the same patterns: some days they feel unstoppable, and other days they can’t hold a warm‑up jug, are bloated in their harness, or cry in the car after a session and don’t know why. They’re frustrated with generic training plans that never mention hormones, cramps, PMS, or heavy bleeding—and they’re over being told to just “push through it.” On my page, I talk honestly about climbing on your period, how different phases of the menstrual cycle can change energy, strength, coordination, and mood, and how to work with those changes instead of against them. I share practical tips on planning sessions and projects around your cycle, adjusting training when cramps or fatigue hit, and supporting recovery with food, rest, and realistic expectations. My audience is actively searching for things like “climbing on your period,” “cycle syncing for climbers,” “PMS and performance,” “best period products with a harness,” and “how hormones affect strength and recovery.” They want real talk and simple explanations, not medical jargon or shame. I keep my language inclusive—this space is for anyone who menstruates, including women, trans men, and nonbinary climbers. The people who stick around here care about body literacy, mental health, and calling out the stigma that still exists around periods in climbing gyms and outdoor spaces. Many of them deal with heavy periods, irregular cycles, endometriosis, PCOS, or anxiety, and they’re looking for a place where those experiences are taken seriously. I share gear and product recommendations that actually work for long days at the crag, plus mindset tools for handling off days, mood swings, and that “why do I even climb” feeling. At its core, my page is a home for climbers who want to understand their cyclical bodies, respect their limits, and still chase hard sends. I’m here to show that you can be strong, emotional, hormonal, and powerful—and that your menstrual cycle can become one of your biggest tools, not something that holds you back.

What brands have you worked with?

I’ve been lucky to work with brands and climbing spaces that care about both performance and menstrual health. I’ve created UGC videos for Airbnb, focusing on cozy, adventure‑friendly stays that fit real climbers’ lives. I’ve partnered with KAVU to highlight fun, functional gear that actually works for people with periods who spend long days outside. For Rhino Skin, I’ve shot ads and photos that speak directly to climbers managing skin, sweat, and hormones on and off the wall. In the menstrual health space, I’ve collaborated with Sparkle period pads to share honest, relatable content around sustainable period care for active bodies. I’ve also worked closely with London Climbing Centres, producing educational videos and menstrual‑health posters that live in their gyms to help normalize talking about cycles in climbing spaces. On the design side, I’ve created custom menstrual cycle posters and graphic design for Boulder Project—turning cycle education into clear, beautiful visuals that climbers can actually use to understand their bodies and plan their sessions.
