Snapchat Influencer Marketing: How to Hire Snapchat Creators Using Snap's Own Metrics

If you sell to Gen Z or Millennials and want to add Snapchat influencer marketing to your plan, this guide covers who uses Snapchat, how to find and hire creators, how to judge them with the metrics Snap uses, and how to pay them.

Key Takeaways

•  Snapchat averaged 493 million daily active users in the second quarter of 2026 (Snap Inc., 2026), and 63% of Snapchatters feel a personal connection with creators (Snap, 2026).

•  Millennials and adult Gen Z accounted for 32% of US spending on consumer packaged goods, general merchandise and quick-service restaurants in the 12 months to June 2025, up 8 points since 2020 (Numerator, 2025).

•  Snapchat creator profiles on Collabstr now show views, average view time and returning viewer rate from Snap's data, plus projected CPM, so you can judge attention as well as reach.

•  Snapchat creators on Collabstr charge $260 on average per sponsorship (Collabstr, 2026), and more than 25% of creators in Collabstr's data are ready to work on Snapchat campaigns.

Snapchat is a visual messaging app where people share photos and short videos with friends and family, post Stories and watch short videos in Spotlight (Snap Inc., 2026). It has nearly half a billion daily users (Snap Inc., 2026), and Snap's data shows about three in four Snapchatters are 35 or younger (Snap, 2024 data). Snapchat influencers tend to post the everyday, close-up content their audience opens the app for, which makes the relationship between creator and viewer the thing a brand is paying to join.

Snapchat creators are now available to hire on Collabstr. From October 5, 2026, brands and agencies can search, hire and manage Snapchat creators on Collabstr, and Snapchat creator profiles carry Snap's own metrics. That puts Snapchat in the same place as the rest of your creator program, judged on the numbers Snap uses.

Here is why those numbers matter, with two hypothetical creators who each quote $300 for a Story. Creator A averages 30,000 views, so every 1,000 views costs $10. Creator B averages 15,000 views, so every 1,000 views costs $20. Creator A looks cheaper, but if Creator B's viewers watch longer and more of them come back each day, Creator B can be the better buy for a product that needs explaining. This guide shows you how to weigh reach against attention before you hire.

Who Snapchat Reaches in 2026

Snapchat reaches a daily audience of 493 million people. Snap reported 493 million daily active users on average in the second quarter of 2026, up 5% on the year before (Snap Inc., 2026).

Snap has also reported that Snapchat reaches 90% of 13 to 24 year olds and 75% of 13 to 34 year olds in more than 25 countries, based on its internal data from the fourth quarter of 2023 (Snap, 2023 data).

The audience is older than commonly perceived. Nearly one in four Snapchatters was over 35 as of April 2024, according to Snap (Snap, 2024 data). So a Snapchat creator plan can reach parents and established earners as well as students.

Why Gen Z and Millennials Matter to Your Budget Now

Gen Z and Millennials already buy a large and growing share of what brands sell. Millennials and adult Gen Z accounted for 32% of US spending on consumer packaged goods, general merchandise and quick-service restaurants in the 12 months to June 2025, up 8 points since 2020 (Numerator, 2025). Adult Gen Z alone rose from 2.6% of that spending in 2020 to 6.1% in 2025.

They are also a growing share of the workforce. In the third quarter of 2023, Gen Z's share of the US labor force passed Baby Boomers' for the first time, and by the second quarter of 2024 it stood at 18% against 15% (US Department of Labor, 2024).

Bar chart for Snapchat influencer marketing planning: Millennials and adult Gen Z rose from 24% of US spending on consumer packaged goods, general merchandise and quick-service restaurants in 2020 to 32% in 2025, according to Numerator.

A brand that treats Gen Z as a future customer is already selling to them today, and Snapchat is one of the places they spend time with the people they follow.

Why Creators Carry More Weight on Snapchat

Snap describes Snapchat as a visual messaging app for friends and family (Snap Inc., 2026), and its creators are watched at the same close range. In Snap research among 3,652 Snapchatters, 63% said they feel a personal connection with creators, and 57% said they follow creators on Snapchat for a look at their daily life (Snap, 2026).

Bar chart of Snapchat influencers' connection with their audience: in Snap research, 63% of Snapchatters said they feel a personal connection with creators and 57% said they follow creators for a look at their daily life.

That closeness carries through to buying. In a study Snap ran with the media agency MAGNA, 49% of the Snapchat users surveyed said they were interested in buying the product featured in creator content they were shown. The study surveyed weekly social media users aged 16 to 49 in five markets, including the US, in September and October 2023 (Snap, 2024).

For a brand, that changes what to look for. A creator with a smaller audience that watches every Story and comes back each day can do more for a product than a larger account people scroll past. The metrics in the next section are how you tell the two apart.

Snapchat Formats Brands Can Buy

Brands can hire Snapchat creators for four formats, and each suits a different campaign goal.

•  Stories. Snaps the creator posts to their Public Profile, which anyone on Snapchat can see. Most Stories disappear after 24 hours (Snap, 2026), so they suit a product demonstration, a day-in-the-life feature or a launch countdown.

•  Spotlight. Snapchat's feed of short videos. In Snap's words, "It shines a light on the most entertaining Snaps, no matter who created them" (Snap, 2026). Spotlight suits reach, because a video can travel past the creator's own subscribers.

•  Lenses. Snap's augmented reality effects. More than 300 million Snapchatters engage with augmented reality every day on average, according to Snap (Snap, 2024). A Lens creator can build a branded Lens, which suits products people want to try on or play with.

•  Saved Stories. A Story the creator saves to their Public Profile stays there after 24 hours (Snap), which suits a product guide or tutorial you want people to find later.

Whatever the format, the creator labels the content as a Paid Partnership. Snap's commercial content policy requires creators to use its paid partnership tool on sponsored content, including content made in return for a gifted product (Snap, 2026).

How to Find and Hire Snapchat Influencers

Finding Snapchat influencers starts with the audience you want to reach, then narrows by the four metrics. Here is the process in five steps:

1.  Define the audience. Write down the age range, location and interests of the people you want to reach. On Collabstr, you can search creators by platform, niche, location, follower count, engagement rate, audience age and language.

2.  Shortlist by attention. Browse Snapchat influencers and rank your shortlist by average view time and returning viewer rate before views.

3.  Compare on CPM. Use CPM to compare a creator with a large audience and a creator with a loyal one on the same terms.

4.  Watch recent Stories. Look at two or three recent Stories or Spotlight videos for tone, audience and how the creator talks about products.

5.  Brief and hire. Send a brief with the format, key message, posting dates and usage rights, then hire the creator from their profile.

For more on setting goals before you shortlist, see our guide to influencer marketing strategy.

Bring the Creators You Already Work With

If you already work with Snapchat creators, you can add them to Collabstr on a Pro or Premium plan and manage them next to new ones. Collabstr's bring your own creators feature puts every creator relationship in one dashboard, with the same briefs, approvals and payments, at no cost to the creator. Adding Snapchat does not mean starting a roster from scratch.

The Four Metrics to Judge a Snapchat Creator

Snapchat creator profiles on Collabstr show four metrics: views, average view time and returning viewer rate, drawn from Snap's own data, plus projected CPM, the cost of reaching 1,000 views based on the creator's price and average views. Each one answers a different question about a creator before you hire them.

Metric

What it measures

The question it answers

Views

How many times the creator's Snaps were watched

How many people will see my product?

Average view time

The average time viewers spend watching

Will they watch long enough to see the product?

Returning viewer rate

How many viewers come back to the creator's content

Does this audience trust the creator enough to return?

Projected CPM

Cost per 1,000 views, from the creator's price and average views

What am I paying for each 1,000 views?

How to Read Them Together

In its creator Insights, Snap defines views on Spotlight as the number of times viewers started watching, and average view time as the average time viewers spent watching (Snap, 2026). Read the four metrics as a set. Views tell you the size of the audience, and average view time and returning viewer rate tell you how closely it pays attention. Projected CPM then puts a price on that attention, so you can compare creators of different sizes on the same terms.

CPM means cost per 1,000 views. To work it out yourself, divide the creator's price by their average views and multiply by 1,000. For Creator A from the introduction, $300 ÷ 30,000 × 1,000 = $10.

We built Snapchat profiles this way because Snap measures creators differently from other platforms. Judging a Snapchat creator by follower counts alone misses how often the same people come back.

What Snapchat Influencers Cost and How Payment Works

What a Snapchat influencer costs depends on their audience, the format and the usage rights you ask for, and on Collabstr, each creator shows a starting price for each type of content on their profile. You see the price before you hire, so you can budget before you send a single message. Snapchat creators on Collabstr charge $260 on average for a sponsorship, according to Collabstr's Snapchat influencer price calculator (September 2026).

On the same calculator, that puts Snapchat below YouTube ($390), TikTok ($345), Instagram and Twitch ($340 each), and above UGC ($225), Amazon ($220) and X ($190). UGC is user-generated content, videos a creator makes for the brand to post on its own channels.

Bar chart of what Snapchat influencers charge on Collabstr: $260 on average per sponsorship, below YouTube at $390, TikTok at $345 and Instagram and Twitch at $340, and above UGC at $225, Amazon at $220 and X at $190.

Three things move the rate:

•  Audience and attention. A creator with high average view time and a high returning viewer rate can charge more than their view count alone suggests. CPM shows whether the price is fair for the attention you get.

•  Format and effort. A single Story takes less work than a Spotlight video or a custom Lens, so compare prices format by format.

•  Usage rights. If you want to run the creator's content as a paid ad, agree the platforms and the number of days in the brief.

Payment works the same way for Snapchat as for every other platform on Collabstr. When you place an order, payment is held in escrow, which means Collabstr holds the money and releases it to the creator only when you approve the work. If the creator does not deliver, you receive a full refund. Creators are paid in their local currency, and Collabstr handles invoicing and tax documents across 150 countries, so your team does not chase invoices.

How to Measure a Snapchat Influencer Campaign

Measure a Snapchat campaign against the same four metrics you hired on, so you can see whether the creator delivered the attention you paid for. Compare the views, average view time and CPM each piece of content earned with the figures on the creator's profile.

A simple way to set it up:

•  Pick one goal per creator. Reach, attention or sales. A Spotlight video hired for reach should be judged on views and CPM, and a Story series on view time.

•  Track sales separately. Give each creator a discount code or tracked link, so purchases can be traced back to them.

•  Measure at the same point. Compare every creator at the same moment after posting, for example the day after a Story goes up and 30 days after a Spotlight video.

•  Rehire on returning viewers. A creator whose audience keeps coming back is worth a second campaign, because their viewers will see your product again.

If you run creators on other platforms too, measure them the same way, so Snapchat sits in the same report as your TikTok and Instagram campaigns.

What This Means for Brands

Snap has reported reaching three in four 13 to 34 year olds in more than 25 countries (Q4 2023 data), and in the US, Millennials and adult Gen Z accounted for close to a third of spending on everyday goods and quick-service restaurants in 2025. Snapchat's creators also hold a closer relationship with viewers than a follower count shows. The brands that do well there will judge creators on attention and loyalty, and price them on CPM.

Our goal has always been that a brand can find the right creator on Collabstr across every platform, audience and niche, and Snapchat closes the gap for brands selling to Gen Z and Millennials. More than 25% of creators in Collabstr's data are ready to work on Snapchat campaigns. On Collabstr, you see a creator's price before you hire, and payment is released when you approve the work. Start by browsing Snapchat creators on Collabstr, or read about the Gen Z influencers your audience already follows.

Methodology

•  Collabstr data: the $260 average and the other platform averages are from Collabstr's public influencer price calculator, platform pages read September 29, 2026, and reflect the prices creators list. The share of creators ready to work on Snapchat campaigns is Collabstr's figure at launch, October 2026. Views, average view time and returning viewer rate on Snapchat creator profiles come from Snap's data; CPM is calculated from the creator's price and views.

•  Creator examples: Creators A and B are hypothetical. Projected CPM is the creator's price divided by average views, multiplied by 1,000.

•  Third-party data: Snap Inc. second-quarter 2026 earnings release (daily active users, quarterly average); Snap for Business audience figures (Snap internal data, fourth quarter of 2023 and April 5, 2024); Snap research among 3,652 Snapchatters, published by Snap for Business in May 2026; a study Snap ran with MAGNA among 5,214 weekly social media users aged 16 to 49 in five markets, fielded September to October 2023, whose Snapchat sample was also 3,652; Snap newsroom, augmented reality engagement (Q4 2023 data, published September 2024); Snap Inc. annual report for 2025; Snap's Help Center and Insights Glossary, and Snap's Commercial Content Policy (effective July 2, 2026), read September 29, 2026; Numerator, US consumer packaged goods, general merchandise and quick-service restaurant spend, 12 months to June 30, 2025; US Department of Labor, Employment and Training Administration, Trendlines, August 2024, from Current Population Survey data.
